Veggie wraps : low carb/high fiber tortilla, laughing cow light, spinach, green peppers, mushrooms, red onions, and cherry tomatoes (and honey baked ham for Katherine) – plus clementines.


Asian veggie wrap/salad: spinach, morning star asian veggie patty, with  satueed sugar snap peas, green peppers, carrots, onions, and mushrooms; soy sauce (and cheese for Katherine) on top – plus clementines.

I am fortunate to have a direct, 3 hour flight from the southwest to the southeast today. The time frame is good too: 9:30am-1:30pm. So, airport food really shouldn’t be a factor. But, I have trained myself to associate travel with snacks. Even for a 2 hour car trip, I freak out a little if I don’t know that I have a couple snacks just in case.

Here is what I have packed for today:


Crunch fruit (2),  granola bars (2), pecans, goldfish, and an apple.  I don’t plan on consuming all of these items – some will be saved for my return flights.

Finals are done and winter break is upon us.  After a week of stress -and less than healthy stress management- I am happy to have a couple weeks to enjoy family and friends – and food.

To start, lots of veggies! (and tomato soup, not pictured)


As usual, after a few (several) days of junk, this is what I was craving.  Along with the veggies, I picked up some lemon cilantro hummus and herb goat cheese at Fresh and Easy.  I went to the gym twice and I gave away the last of the cookies I made.  The holidays won’t (and shouldn’t!) be food denial/guilt and obsession over working out. But, with some planning and support from Liz, it can be happy and healthy holiday.
